Alaskan Malamute
Malamutes were bred for utilitarian and then were used for sled dogs. They are closely related to the Siberian husky. Malamutes usually live 13 to 16 years. they are very friendly, playful, and affectionate dogs. They originated from Alaska. Alaskan Malamutes have a double coat which keeps them warmer during the winter. Their main cause of death, due to their large size, is cancer. The most commonly reported health problem is hip dysplasia and hereditary cataracts. Malamutes were known for spotting seals and and alerting to seal blow holes. The Alaskan Malamute is classified under the working group in the AKC.

Blood Hound
The Blood Hound is a large breed bred for hunting deer and wild boar. They originated in England/Scotland. They are also used for tracking lost humans. They are put in the hunting group in the AKC. They normally live 10 to 12 years. They are very gentle and affectionate but are very stubborn. Their normal colors are tan, liver and tan, and black and tan. They normally have eye, skin and ear ailments.

German Short-haired Pointer
The German Short-haired pointer was bred for hunting and tracking. They originated in Germany. They are very powerful with strong with legs that make it able to move rapidly and turn quickly. They usually have long floppy ears that are set high on their head. The muzzle is very long and broad that let them retrieve heavy game. Their eyes are usually brown. Their tails are commonly docked. Their coats are very soft and thin and have a layer of guard hairs that make the coat water resistant. They are very intelligent and characteristically affectionate. They are usually healthy dogs but can have a lot of heredity disorders due to their breeding some of them may suffer hip dysplasia, genetic eye diseases, epilepsy,and skin disorders. Pointers need a lot of exercise and room to run because of their hunting and tracking instincts.

Boxer
Boxers originated in Germany and were bred to be used as hunting dogs. They have a very strong muzzle ideal for holding onto prey. Boxers were first used in dog shows as St. Bernards instead of as a Boxer. The head is the most distinctive part of the Boxer. Their average liter size is 6-8 pups and they usually live 9-10 years.

St.Bernard
The St.Bernard is a very large working dog they originated from Switzerland and Italy. They were bred for rescue. Their breed has become famous for their tales of alpine rescues and their very large size. The average weight for them is 140 and 264 lb and their height is 27 1/2 and 35 1/2 inches at the withers. The very rapid growth rate may cause deterioration of the bones if not given proper feeding and exercise. In the AKC the St.Bernard is put in the working group.

English Bulldog
The Bulldog is a muscular heavy dog that has a wrinkled face and a distinctive pushed in nose. The Bulldog originated from England. Their average lifespan is 8-12 years and are very likely to have breathing problems. The leading cause of death is cardiac problems and then cancer. Statistics show that of the 467 bulldogs tested between 1979 and 2009 73.9% were affected by hip dysplasia. Their disposition is equable, resolute, kind,and courageous. They are good dogs to have if you are willing to take care of their health problems.
