St.Bernard

The St.Bernard is a very large working dog they originated from Switzerland and Italy. They were bred for rescue. Their breed has become famous for their tales of alpine rescues and their very large size. The average weight for them is 140 and 264 lb and their height is 27 1/2 and 35 1/2 inches at the withers. The very rapid growth rate may cause deterioration of the bones if not given proper feeding and exercise. In the AKC the St.Bernard is put in the working group.
